The Berstuk Flower Press

I recently purchased the Berstuk Flower Press to preserve some memories of the happy times spent in our beautiful garden. In just a few weeks time, we are moving from our home of 5 years and so I'm hoping that the Berstuk Flower Press will help me press and dry some of the gorgeous spring flowers from our home which I can eventually frame.  

The Berstuk Flower Press is packaged in a beautiful blue and gold box, and inside, the flower press comes ready to be assembled and with easy to follow directions provided in a small booklet (although, using the Berstuk flower Press is simple enough and even I nailed it without reading the booklet).  The flower press is put together by placing screws into each of the four corners of the bottom panel, adding a layer of cardboard, blotting paper, flowers, further blotting paper, cardboard and finally the top, floral engraved wooden panel, before tightening the nuts to press.

The flower press is probably a little smaller than I anticipated - although no smaller than advertised at 27.5cm x 17.5cm. the Berstuk Flower Press has two layers, so it is possible to press multiple flowers at once. My one criticism is that there was some very slight damage to my Berstuk Flower Press when I opened the package, although it wont stop the product working as it should.

I've collected a variety of flowers from the garden to press, including bluebells, wisteria and cherry blossom, and these are currently being dried. The press is easy to use and so far appears that the process is straightforward. I'm really excited to see how the flowers turn out, and I'll be posting a review of the outcome of flower pressing with my Berstuk Flower Press one they are ready - so do check back soon. I have never pressed flowers before, so I'm looking forward to learning this skill.

The Berstuk Flower Press cost me £22.89. Delivery was free as I ordered it from Amazon using my Prime account, and even though I didn't purchase until 10pm, it arrived the next morning, so I was very pleased with how quickly it arrived.
